Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management

The School of Business and Nonprofit Management’s Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management serves the educational needs of nonprofit professionals through graduate degree and certificate programs, on-site training, and an annual symposium series that focuses on contemporary issues and challenge confronting nonprofit organizations.

As a teaching and learning resource for the nonprofit community, the Axelson Center seeks to provide:

  • A highly relevant curriculum teaching leading-edge business practices needed to grow a nonprofit’s base of support and stature.
  • Opportunities to network with and learn from experienced peers and to solve specific problems facing organizations.
  • State-of-the-art knowledge presented by expert faculty with nonprofit management experience.
  • Systematic training in all aspects of nonprofit management.

In addition to graduate offerings, The Axelson Center also partners with American Humanics to provide an undergraduate certificate program in nonprofit management.

The Axelson Center values the input of leaders in the Chicagoland nonprofit community and has established an advisory board comprised of senior-level nonprofit managers. This board plays a vital role in guiding the Center's programming activities. Members of the advisory board are also frequent guest speakers in the nonprofit certificate courses.
