Majors and Fields
What's the call you feel for your life and career? Maybe you have a passion for youth ministry or for biology. Maybe you feel at home in history or come alive in music — or maybe you're just not sure yet. North Park University offers 37 majors to explore — and suggestions to get you started if you're still deciding.
Supplementing your academic major with a minor from another discipline can powerfully enhance your education and professional preparedness. There are even some fields available only as a minor, or you can craft your own.
More than a minor, less than a major, a certificate gives you an additional academic credential in recognition of your focused study in a particular discipline. We offer undergraduate certificates in nonprofit management and conflict transformation studies.
Pre-professional programs at North Park give you foundational knowledge and demonstrated capacity when it comes time to apply to competitive graduate programs in your chosen profession — from law or engineering to physical therapy or medicine.
You can pursue an entire major in a foreign language, use courses to fulfill General Education requirements, or just take a noncredit conversation course. Learning a language is a great way to deepen your understanding and enhance your professional potential.
These Academic Planning Guides help you plan your upcoming semesters wisely, with an overview of the major and General Education requirements for every academic and pre-professional program.
Here are the tools that will help you put together the right course schedule for each semester, from the University Catalog to our General Education checklist.
