Transportation

North Park provides parking for students, faculty, and staff, but because our campus is landlocked, parking spaces are very limited. If you would like to bring a car, please see our parking policy and info. We highly encourage students to take advantage of the many different festivals, museums, parks, restaurants, and other entertainment and educational opportunities the city of Chicago offers. Because North Park University is located in such a large and active city, students have many options for public transportation. Students may purchase a Chicago Card for easy transportation options.

CTA Public Transportation Info

Chicago offers great and easy-to-use public transportation. Students may travel downtown, to local shopping centers and stores, and even to the suburbs using the “El,” buses, and the Metra. The Chicago Transit Authority (www.transitchicago.com) website provides ample information about bus and train schedules and stop locations. Use the CTA’s Trip Planner to determine the best and quickest route of travel to your destination. The Metra website (www.metrarail.com) also provides useful information about public transportation within and outside of the city. The cost of travel on each of these modes of transportation varies. Visit the respective websites to learn more.

Chicago Card

Students who plan on utilizing Chicago’s public transportation often may want to purchase a Chicago Card (www.chicago-card.com/cc/) as it offers lower fares and eases boarding. Chicago Cards may be purchased online or at various Dominik’s or Jewel-Osco grocery stores or Currency Exchange locations.

North Park Parking Policy & Info

North Park has extremely limited parking space available because of the campus' urban location. First-year students are not permitted to bring a car to school. If students who are not first-year incoming students desire to bring a car to school and use campus parking lots, they must register their vehicle and purchase a parking sticker from Physical Plant, located at the corner of Carmen and Kedzie. Learn more about Parking Regulations at North Park University, including general parking regulations, parking sticker prices, and locations for available on-campus and street parking.
