What to Bring and What Not to Bring
We are excited that you will be a part of the North Park community. As you prepare for your arrival, please keep in mind the following information.
Suggested items to bring include:
• alarm clock/clock radio
• mattress pad
• sheets (Sohlberg, Burgh, Park North and Anderson have twin x-long. Ohlson has standard twin)
• pillow & pillowcases
• bedspread
• blanket(s)
• laundry basket/detergent
• towels
• surge protectors/power strips
• telephone
• flashlight in case of power outage (use of candles is not permitted)
• toiletries
• shower caddie
• clothes hangers
• cooking utensils
• plates/bowls/cups
• wastebasket
• small box, floor, or table fan
• pictures/posters
- sticky-tac and blue masking tape (painter's tape) for hanging items on the walls. (Nails and screws of any size are not allowed for use on the walls, ceilings, floors, or any college-owned furniture. You will be financially responsible for any wall damage at the end of the year.)
Items you may want to bring:
• small refrigerator
• area rug or carpet
• reading lamp
• additional lighting (Halogens are not permitted as they are a fire hazard)
• coffee pot
• TV, VCR, DVD player
• personal computer
• hot pot
• iron
• reading lamp
Items NOT to bring include:
• animals/pets (only small fish allowed; no swimming turtles)
• candles, incense
• halogen lights
• hot plates & toasters (no open coils)
• microwaves
• air conditioners
• space heaters
• high-intensity light bulbs
• 5-light floor lamp with colored shades (E230863 Model GX6409)
* We recommend discussing what you will bring with your roommate.
* If you choose to bring valuables be aware that you bring these items at your own risk, as North Park is not responsible for the possible damage, loss, or theft of these items.
* We do not have any storage space available, so please plan on taking your belongings home during the summer months (unless you plan on living in summer housing).
