North Park University Golf for Kids

Golf for Kids

Golf for Kids is an annual fundraiser that supports North Park University’s programs for urban youth in the neighborhood surrounding the school. The University teams up with the Chicago Bears Football Club for a day of golf, dinner, and camaraderie.  Along with the Bears organization, Swedish Covenant Hospital has supported Golf for Kids throughout its entire 15-year history.

In 2009, Golf for Kids was held for the fifth consecutive year at Traditions course at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, IL and was co-hosted by North Park Alumnus, Brian McCaskey and Chicago Bears kicker, Robbie Gould.  The event welcomed six new foursomes to the tournament, some of whom traveled in from Toronto to golf for the day.  Of the record number of golfers (131) who participated in this year’s event, 12 were Chicago Bears alumni and staff, and 10 were team rookies.

Director of University Events, Sue Gost, couldn’t be happier with the 2009 outcome.  “It was a wonderful celebration of our tradition of generous people coming together to enjoy themselves and to ensure that the work North Park does with urban youth can continue."
