History of North Park Theological Seminary

For more than 100 years, North Park Theological Seminary has played a crucial role in instructing students in the tradition of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Founded by Swedish Lutheran pietists, and shaped by many movements within evangelicalism, North Park's ecumenical vision has made it an institution where students from a wide variety of denominations feel welcome.

Symposium on the Theological Interpretation of Scripture

Each fall, North Park Theological Seminary hosts the international Symposium on the Theological Interpretation of Scripture, featuring prominent scholars from around the world. The Symposium provides a forum for interdisciplinary theology from a biblical perspective for the benefit of the Church. The 2009 topic was Conversion and the 2010 topic will be Atonement.

Symposium papers are published by Wipf and Stock as the yearly journal EX AUDITU An International Journal for the Theological Interpretation of Scripture. Professor Klyne Snodgrass serves as coordinator of the Symposium, and as editor of the journal, with Professor Stephen Chester and Christopher Spinks of Wipf and Stock serving as associate editors.

Accreditations

North Park Theological Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and by the North Central Association of Schools and Secondary Schools.
