Evangelical Covenant Church Connections

Ties to the Evangelical Covenant Church

North Park Theological Seminary is the graduate theological school of the Evangelical Covenant Church. The generous gifts of ECC members have made possible the Presidential Scholarships Program for the preparation of future leaders of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

North Park students serve as interns in Covenant churches and institutions. They attend the annual Covenant Midwinter Conference, which often features NPTS professors as preachers and teachers. Seminary professors also preach and teach in local Covenant churches, at family camps and ministerial retreats. All full time faculty at North Park Theological Seminary are called by the Covenant Annual Meeting to their appointments.

Covenant Affirmations, the latest statement of Covenant beliefs and values, has been produced as a joint project between the school and the church. In 2011, a new North Park Theological Seminary faculty book will be published with further analysis of and reflection on the affirmations.

The Covenant Archives, used by pastors and students for historical research, are housed in the Brandel Library. The journal the Covenant Quarterly is edited by Seminary professor Paul Koptak, in association with the denomination.
